This thread is for discussion of the readings from this bible reading plan. Feel free to join in at any time! Genesis 1 - 3Today the passage that probably got me thinking the most was Gen 3:17 where God was punishing Adam. In my marriage prep classes we talked a lot about the responsibility the husband has in marriage and how we should listen to our wives but ultimately we make the final decision. I will always be there and support my wife but ultimately I answer to God and even if my wife happens to be pushing me to do something that I know is ungodly that I will be held accountable for it. Really though this isn't about who is tempting me to do something ungodly but keeping priorities straight and realizing that I answer to God. Thoughts on the reading?

yeah, I was really thinking about how when God asks Adam what happened, he immediately passes on the blame, and then Eve does the same. How often in life do we try and pass on the fault or the blame? Are we trying to protect ourselves, or actually convince ourselves that we were not in the wrong?
Something to work on, at least for me is to accept criticism, and then try to grow from it. Even if some blame does probably belong elsewhere, I need to grow as a person and be willing to accept first what is my fault, and then help others to see.....
The whole "remove the plank before you comment on the speck" thing....
