This thread is for discussion of the readings from this bible reading plan. Feel free to join in at any time! Psalms 1-2I don't know how I'm going to feel about Wednesdays. I've never been huge on psalms. I've probably just not reflected on them as much as the other scripture but I've just always seemed to not get as much out of them. I know they're songs and poems and prayers but I think we probably lose quite a bit in the translation. I'm not saying I don't get anything out of them but Wednesdays will be... interesting.

Psalms 3-5So as I read through this tonight, I have to admit that my mind is over distracted by the million tasks I have been assigned by my office for the 4th of July party, and the arrival of a guy from D.C. to have a meeting with a non-profit group I helped to set up. That said, without a story line to follow I truly as having trouble focusing, just as Dason kind of talked about things being lost in translation last week with the Psalms. I just couldn't find the rhythm with which these Psalms were written. The verse that did stick with me today though was Psalm 5:3: In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation I realized that while reading the bible plan is to help me focus on God, letting it stay till the last thing in my day like it has the last few days does not help me to focus on God throughout my day. I only feel guilt that I have not yet read the passage. I don't pray and meditate on it, and look for God to show His presence in my life. I want my prayers and my daily life to be a reflection of a focus I maintain by calling on the Lord to guide me, and then happily and expectantly waiting for Him.
