Which do you prefer... PC or Mac? I guess we can differentiate between windows users and linux users too if we would like.

At this point I have to say PC. However, if I am honest, my once pure hatred of Mac's has subdued. Also, now that I have graduated, and the majority of my computer time includes music, photos, and movie making the smart choice would seem to be a mac. the one thing holding me back however is really the lack of right click without having to hold down a key or click with two fingers...

As a person who recently switched to mac (although I still have my pc laptop)... The right click issue isn't a big deal. I actually prefer the clicking with two fingers after working with it for a while. I really love my mac.
However, I do have to admit that my mac has recently been really friggin messed up. I need to take it to some sort of tech support but don't know anything about tech support on campus at the moment and don't have the money to take it to some other techno geek.

I'm pretty sure that Apple has a pretty extensive help line service if you give them a call. They usually do a pretty good job of walking you through the problem. Might want to give it a try. At least it's free.

It all depends on what you plan to do. Macs are a great computer for music, pictures, and video capability but, it is limited to other things such as connecting external hard drives which have to be specially mac formatted or programming a PLC or DCS system.
We should all know that whatever can be done on a mac can be done on a PC.That is my belief. PC's are very vast in what you can do and it may take a little bit of research and a few software downloads to do the thing you want to do but it is still doable.
Mac's I belief to be a easier computer to navigate around and do whatever you have to do. Like I said before it is limited. Sure you may never get viruses but then again what are virus scanners for.
Now talking dollars Macs will be more expensive. I do not know why. But if you were to put that kind of money into a PC. Oh my goodness what decent laptop/computer you would have.
I prefer a PC over a Mac and I don't think I will ever change my mind. PC's are a work/play computer. Macs are I belief to be just a play computer and a waste of money. Buy a PC don't be foolish and buy a Mac.

Well with dual boot you could potentially do anything on a mac that you can do on a pc. Also if you consider the software that is loaded on a mac and compare the hardware capabilities of a mac to a PC the price isn't unreasonable. It is more expensive than a lower end PC but you get what you pay for in that regard.
The external hard drive issue is a little annoying if you don't plan for it. However there are externals that will cooperate with both PCs and Macs without any tinkering required.
This is all coming from somebody who used a PC his entire life until this summer. Macs are a lot nicer and the software that comes preloaded on them is worth it if you ask me. Also you save a lot of time and effort when it comes to getting cameras/printers/other such things to work with a mac.
I don't think I'll ever completely switch over to a Mac but I do love them so.

You make a valid point. I'll probably end up owning both though.

So, I am officially on Mac watch. I have a friend who works for Apple, and if a good price pops up on a model I'm going to purchase one.....
