First, I want to thank Betsy Miller for volunteering to be the guinea pig for the CWW sermons. She did an amazing job with only very hazy direction to go from. Thank you Betsy! (Edit) : The link to the sermon is: sites.google.com/site/moraviancww/Home/sermonsOne point that I thought was great was the point that is made about the difference between being a disciple and being an apostle. As Christians it is our job to teach others about Christ and enable them to in turn be able to tell others. Best pyramid scheme ever! Seriously though, as young adults we can take our cue form 2 Timothy 2:2. Read it. Disciples becoming disciple makers... that's what its all about.

Should have put this at the top:
I have asked Betsy to follow up with any questions that any of you have on the sermon. What we hope for these sermons is that they can be truly interactive, and that we can learn more by being able to question a teaching, to gain further explanation.

I just want to thank you Betsy for taking the time to give the first e-sermon here. It's been a while since this was posted but I'm finally getting around to commenting on it. First off I just want to say that I really enjoyed your message.
I've thought about the topic of the church as a building quite a bit actually. As some of you know I come from a more non-traditional church in that for the past... 8 some years we've been meeting at the local high school. I actually liked that because at the beginning it didn't feel like "our" space. It was a location for us to gather and worship but it wasn't what "church" was. I think over time though it's started to feel more like the traditional setting where that location "was" church. We recently bought land in the Brookstone Meadows subdivision and at least a few times a year we have services on the land in a giant tent. I really enjoy those services for a few reasons. One is that it's outside and I absolutely love outside services. The second is that it got us out of the auditorium. We moved around a little bit so it made us really think about the fact that even though we were in a different location it was just about the people we were with and the Almighty God that we were praising.
I've always thought it would be awesome if at a service one day we were just commissioned to go get some coffee with somebody (not in the church lounge either).
One of my favorite parts about Chetek was always the mission day or whatever it was called. We got to go outside the boundaries of the camp to share our faith and do some works. I think I went to a retirement home every year and I just loved talking to the people there. I don't really know how feasible it is but I've always wished we could do something like that with the Winmor group as well.
I think I could say much more but I'm going to leave it at this for now. Thank you again Betsy!

Thanks Dason for your comments - and insights about the Real Hope Church community. I think about the itinerant God of the Old Testament - what a concept - a God who was on the move -- and was not stationary in a building. The question is, does God move with us, or do we move with God?? Ok, Ok, semantics maybe - but I think our perspective makes a big difference -- It's sort of like that old bumper sticker that says "God is my co-pilot" as if we are in the driver's seat. Remembering -and then celebrating that God is leading and we are walking with God -- is a huge step of faith.
Who's driving your life??
