God, we are assured by your word that your protection, guidance, and strength are with us always. As we venture into an uncertain world today, let us take comfort in your certainty. You truly are all we will ever need. Amen.
So, this was the daily text for today. What makes it so special is that I was with Thomas Baucom of NC and Bishop Sam Gray last night as they were reading it before they headed out this morning on a trip to Nepal. Appropriate text huh?
Even better, the prayer for this daily text was written by Thomas over two years ago! He choose the hymns and wrote the prayers for the texts that eventually became the month of October 2009. He never knew that the day he read this text that he would be about to take a round the world trip.
God is good isn't he? And the whole "working in mysterious ways" thing? Yeah, he's still got it....
