Share your bread with the hungry. Isaiah 58:7
From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded. Luke 12:48
Great Giver of all, we are truly humbled by the many blessings you have bestowed upon us. Our mortal desire for wealth and power prevents us from using our blessings for your kingdom. Forgive us for not giving as we have received. Amen.
I think that this is something we take for granted everyday. So often we are willing to talk about how we are "broke" or "hungry." Yet, we are so blessed, and we are often in situations where we are far from going hungry or really being without any money or possessions. May we remember those who truly are in need, and that we may take the time to reach out to them, and give.
Let's act! In the book of James we hear that God isn't the biggest fan of those who see those in need, pray that they get help, and then walk by without doing anything. Faith w/o works is dead!
