There are a few points that Hopeton makes that I absolutely love because they really have me thinking.
- He talks about how scripture can speak to us so differently at different times in our lives. How a great a reminder this is to me that God still speaks to us! That the Bible really is the living Word!
- He talks about how it is not the evil deeds that condemn the group of "goats," but rather it is the lack of doing good when they had the chance. I can think of so many times in my life when I knew how I could step out and make a difference, but have not because of lack of motivation, or out of feared embarrassment. How often I live for the moment, and forget eternity!
- Finally, a point that really hit home with me was when he mentioned how both the "Sheep" and the "Goats" were surprised by what God said to them. What opinion do we hold of ourselves, and how often is it really in line with what God thinks of us and our actions?
