The first night of Feet First is over already, and there is so much to do yet this weekend. Last night involved a delicious shrimp appetizer, a pumpkin carving of Sam Gray, and a three store quest for queso.
A worship service included a message by Billy Flippin who encouraged us who are excited about service to condition ourselves through prayer. As a group of young adults who are so set on action, it will be important throughout the weekend that we remain focused on Christ, and that we take time to pause, and be in conversation with Him.

Day 2 of Feet first is about to come to a close.... kinda. It has been a day of worship and prayerful consideration of the collective call of Moravian youth as a whole. We've discussed ways to better serve Christ and show his love by empowering young adults in missions, looking for ways to make our voices heard in the churches of North America. We are also working on ways that the young adults of North America can network and communicate in order to unify us as a whole.
AND awesome burgers and sweet potato fries were involved as well as Sam's delicious curry.
Now it's time for some Bible Study (Cubana-style) and Ice Cream.

Bible Study (Cubana-style) was amazing! Illovis laid out a blanket with different items on it, and then read us a scripture passage and asked us to relate the symbols on the blanket with our interpretation of the scripture.
It was amazing to hear the interpretations from all of the different perspectives. There were such sincere thoughts offered on the passage that we all gained a new perspective on what it means to interpret scripture. We all are listening to the message God places on our hearts and it can help so much to hear what others have to say.
Now that Feet First is over, the real work begins. The plan that we put together on Saturday is already in motion as Roman Brady has been elected his congregation's delegate to Synod! How about that for "external affirmation?"

What a Spirit-led weekend! I truly needed to be there and experience the humbling love and faith of great friends who are spread too far apart geographically... Coming together to worship and plan together for our future in the church was a blessing from God. Billy's message Friday night really touched me. When he told us we are not the future, but we are the present, it really affirmed my belief in the people who work with us to empower us in missions and life.
The part that really ripped me open and forced me into God's presence was Billy asking us to make a plan for the next year and really think about where we want to be in a year. It brought me to tears because I realized at that moment that I have been turning my back on God's call in my life. I had taken the job, but had barely "resigned" myself to the fact that I'd be staying in Lititz and not going to Nicaragua for awhile. I had answered God's call, but hadn't accepted it. This weekend at Feet First helped me open my heart and accept what God is asking me to do right now with my life. I am embracing the opportunities He is giving me and I am much happier because of it. It lifted a huge weight off of me and now I'm ready to live each day in God's love.
