Well, in Canada it is now well past Thanksgiving, and holiday decorations are popping up all over. With that thought in mind, I would like to pose a question to everyone here that seems to come up every year regarding whether to say "Merry Christmas!" or "Happy Holidays!"
This video argues (through song!) that as Christians we need to dig in our heels and call it Christmas. What do you all think?
I guess my opinion would be that in all things as Christians we are to be an expression of our faith. I'm not sure that a demonstration of anger over a greeting will be the best way to show the love of Christ.... Now, I'm not a person who thinks we need to apologize for the gospel, or that we need to appease people by changing our message, but I do think we need to make sure we make the message relate-able. Read some of the comments on the video and see how non-Christians view us as hypocritical and hostile when we "draw a line in the sand."

It's been a while since I've posted but I think I'll get back into the habit. I've never really cared too much one way or another. I guess when I say it I say Merry Christmas because that's what it is to me. I don't get offended if somebody else says Happy Holidays though.
I was not really a fan of this video I must say. I think the part that irked me most was the angry rants in the middle. I think it really got to me because it seems to be trying to portray what we as Christians should feel but if I sit here and just try to imagine Christ as the one giving that rant it just seems ludicrous. I mean Christmas time is about remembering the birth of Christ and celebrating his life. I think we would be dishonoring the teachings of Jesus if we were to seriously behave the way that is described in the video. It just doesn't seem to be filled with an attitude of love.
But that's just my take on it.
